Meditation
I love to meditate and do it often, not regularly, but often. It took me a long time to figure out how to get into a true meditative state. I wish I could remember where I heard this and give the person the credit (so if you know please tell me), but when I am struggling to get my thoughts to quiet I repeat “I wonder what I’ll think next” this switches the approach from wishing my brain would calm down to waiting for the next thought to come, it tricks my brain to quiet down.
The benefits I find from meditation are calming, feeling more in line with myself and with my goals, I sleep better and definitely feel more peaceful. The calming of my anxiety is why I love it.
What I want to do is lean into this, meditate for longer than my typical 15 minutes or so and make it a regular practice. I am aiming for daily meditation.
