At the beginning of this journey, here is where my fitness level is (or more accurately – isn’t). I can stand for 30 minutes before my back and legs hurt enough for me to want to sit. I can walk half a mile in 12 minutes, lower back and hips start to hurt about a quarter mile in and I feel the need to stop at half a mile.

So that is where I will get started, I walk half a mile in the mornings and again in the afternoon. Each loop around my neighborhood is a quarter mile, I will increase one loop per week until I am walking 2 miles each time then find a path that has uphill and downhill sections. It is winter where I am so this will be weather permitting, on the days there is snow on the ground I will choose a 15-30 minute youtube to do instead. I plan on walking every day but will give myself some grace if my knees or feet hurt, I would rather take a rest day over pushing through it and making it worse getting me out of the habit I’m trying to build.
